Built to honour local fisherman who held off a Turkish invasion, Fishermans Bastion is where everyone goes to take photos of Budapest. The views from here are great, especially views of the Parliament.
Fisherman's Bastion offers views of Pest and of the Hungarian Parliament which make you feel as if you can reach across the Danube river and touch it. As a result the area is swarmed with tourists during the day. A better time to visit Fisherman's Bastion is in the early evening when most tour groups have gone back to their hotels and you'll have better opportunities to take photos and enjoy the view.
It's not uncommon to see newly-wed couples having their wedding photos taken here. There's a small restaurant here as well which has great views from their tables however you certainly pay for it in the cost of food there.
