The Elizabeth (Erszebet) Bridge

The Elizabeth was, until 1926, the longest single-span bridge in the world (290 meters). As with the other bridges spanning the Danube, the Germans blew it up in 1945 in the hopes of stalling the Soviets. The new, modern Elizabeth bridge was completed in 1965 and is still one of the main crossings on the river.
